Photography: Sisiw lang 'yan if you know the BASICS. We don't believe in shortcuts when it comes to learning and teaching photography. A solid, thorough understanding of the basics is essential if a photographer hopes to become a better photographer.
Three days. Eight hours per seminar day. A total of 24 hours of no-nonsense photography instruction using language that even the least tech-savvy people will understand. Topics are presented in a logical manner. Knowledge is built upon knowledge. All questions are entertained and never left unanswered. During the 3-Day Basic Photography Seminar conducted by Nathaniel Salang, students first learn the workings of their cameras and lenses. They learn to use their cameras as a tool in crafting the image they see in their minds. Mastering their cameras means they do not need rely too much on digital editing. Photoshop is an integral part of modern photography but it is not photography. On the third seminar day, students learn how to creatively apply the basics to many different types of photography subjects. By the time students graduate from the Basic Photography course, a solid foundation of the basics of photography shall have been built and they can readily apply their knowledge to whatever type of creative photography they may want to pursue in the future. |
My Students' Photos: They speak a thousand words. Below is a small selection of photos taken by some of my students during the 3-Day Basic Photography Seminar. These are part of the assignments I give them. Each student gets an informative, thorough, and often inspiring critique for their submitted assignments. They are shown what they did right, Those whose photos need improvement are given technical and creative suggestions and are challenged to do better. The photos you will see below are untouched by Photoshop. Photos taken by students.
